Fujin Sekai 婦人世界

(1906-1933)

Published by one of the largest publishing company, Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha 実業乃日本社, the magazine targets low-to-mid class housewives and provided contents on childcare or cooking for practical use, and cultivated women's self discipline.

The publication of the magazine was also strongly motivated by the end of the First Shino-War, where Japan was seeking to motivate nationalized sentiment as a member of the country.

Throughout the monthly publications, the magazine constantly provokes the female readers with appeal to increase their consumption on new trend items (Japanese style aprons on top of the list割烹着). This shows the awareness of the state that views female as the core population of Japanese consumers as they take financial decisions for their household maintenance.
